Yes, all out-of-state teams (or teams over 80 miles within the state of Nebraska) are required to book a minimum of 24 room nights (example: 6 rooms for 4 nights or 8 rooms for 3 nights) at a partnered property, inside the Triple Crown Block of rooms we have set aside for your team using the personalized Event Connect lodging link for only paid teams. HOW DO WE BOOK A BLOCK OF ROOMS FOR OUR TEAM IN THE TRIPLE CROWN BLOCK AT A PARTNERED PROPERTY LISTED ON THE SITE?
Visit www.OmahaSlumpBuster.com to submit the entry fee. Once paid, your coach or team admin. will receive a personalized lodging link from Event Connect to book rooms at a partner property. Do not call the partner properties directly to book rooms. All rooms must be booked through the Event Connect lodging link.
ARE WE ALLOWED TO BOOK DIRECTLY ON THE HOTEL WEBSITE AT ONE OF YOUR PARTNERED PROPERTIES?
No, all rooms must be booked through the Event Connect lodging link that was sent to the coach or team admin. upon entry fee payment.
Any room booked without using the Event Connect lodging link will not count towards the 24 required room nights per team.
CAN WE USE A THIRD PARTY BOOKING (HOTELS.COM, PRICELINE, ETC)?
No, all room bookings need to be made through the Event Connect lodging link. If your team books rooms with a third party or outside of the Triple Crown Block, your team will be required to purchase the LODGING BUYOUT of $1,500.00 in order to participate.
CAN I USE MY LODGING/HOTEL POINTS?
Personal points do not count towards the minimum 24 room nights required for teams to participate, even if you are staying at the partner property is listed on our site.
The rooms MUST be in the Triple Crown Block using the Event Connect lodging link.
Once the minimum room nights (24) is met you can use your hotel points.
CAN I USE MY VETERAN DISCOUNT/RATE?
No, all room bookings need to be made using the Event Connect lodging link. Once the minimum room nights (24) is met you can use your veteran discount.
WE WOULD LIKE TO STAY AT A PARTNER PROPERTY ON YOUR SITE BUT IT IS SOLD OUT. WHEN WE CALLED, THEY STILL HAVE ROOMS AVAILABLE BUT AT A HIGHER RATE. CAN WE STILL STAY THERE IF WE ARE WILLING TO PAY THE HIGHER RATE?
Before you book any rooms at a partner property that is sold out, you need to call our Lodging Department and she will communicate with our contact person to see if they are willing to extend the Triple Crown Block of rooms.
DO YOU GUYS OFFER A “BUY OUT” IF WE CHOOSE TO RENT A HOUSE (AIRBNB), CAMP, STAY WITH FAMILY OR STAY AT A NON-PARTNERED PROPERTY?
Yes, if your team decides to book with a non partner property, your team would be REQUIRED to pay the $1,500.00 lodging buyout.
WHAT IS THE LODGING BUYOUT OF $1,500.00?
Each team is subject to a $1,500.00 lodging surcharge/buyout in order to participate, if the minimum requirement of 24 room nights is not met using the Event Connect team lodging link. In addition, this includes 3rd party booking companies (i.e. Expedia, Orbitz, Travelocity, etc.), AIRBNB, camping, staying with family, stay at a non partner property (or at a partner property not in the Triple Crown block), etc. Please see our lodging policy tab for additional details. The lodging surcharge/buyout must be paid by May 1st.
DO WE NEED TO PAY THE LODGING SURCHARGE AT THE TIME OF OUR REGISTRATION?
No, this can be paid anytime prior to May 1st by clicking on the Lodging Surcharge button on the Event Details page where you registered your team.
THE PROPERTY WE WOULD LIKE TO STAY AT DOES NOT HAVE ANY DOUBLE DOUBLE ROOMS REMAINING IN THE TRIPLE CROWN BLOCK
We do not guarantee any room type in the Triple Crown block of rooms that have been set aside. Each property's contract is different, some partner properties will give us a lot of double beds and other will only give us king rooms with pullout sofas.
The earlier your team submits the entry fee, the sooner your team can book rooms using the Event Connect lodging link, the better chance you will have to secure double double room types. You would need to either secure the king rooms with pullout sofas or look for another property with double beds.
DO WE HAVE TO PAY FIRST NIGHT’S ROOM UP FRONT?
Due to the demand for rooms during the CWS, in some cases, yes, the hotel will require you to pay your first night’s room up front.
WE WOULD LIKE TO STAY AT A PROPERTY NEAR OUR FIELDS, DO YOU KNOW WHERE THAT IS?
Games will be all over the greater Omaha and Council Bluffs area, including up to an hour away. The most central location is 72nd street and I-80.
This would give you about a 15 min drive to most of the parks in the Greater Omaha and Council Bluffs Area. From one end of town to the other is about a 20 min drive.
There may be fields that will be up to 1 hour away.
CAN WE BOOK LODGING WITHOUT BEING PAID FOR THE EVENT?
No, only teams that have paid the entry fee in full will receive a personal team lodging link from EventConnect. It will give you access to the Triple Crown partner properties.
DO ATHLETES STAY IN DORMS OR AT A PARTNER HOTEL WITH FAMILY MEMBERS?
Athletes stay with their family members at one of our partner properties.
